COFFEE: Best Regional Coffee Spots

But first, coffee – always! Whether you’re just passing through, or exploring a new town – a good coffee can genuinely make or break your day. So to make your next regional roadtrip as delicious as possible – I’ve pulled together some of my most favourite places for coffee. Each with their own personality but one thing in common – seriously great coffee.

SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS, NSW

Nick’s (Bowral, NSW) – bold call but I stand by this: this is the best coffee. You will not get a better coffee anywhere in the whole country, trust me. Small but mighty, this chic and minimal coffee bar on the main street in Bowral is flawless.

The What If Society (Moss Vale, NSW & Burrawang, NSW) – the absolute dream combo of unbelievable food, the best team, great coffee and the most inspirational ethos of fresh local produce, minimal waste and sustainable practices. With two beautiful locations, you have zero excuse not to visit!

Highlands Merchant (Moss Vale, NSW) – with its famous peony mural, pastel colour-pop accents and retro awnings, this is the perfect spot for a great coffee and sweet treat. Always such a fun vibe with the sweetest staff, this hive of activity on the main street of Moss Vale is definitely worth a visit.

SOUTH COAST, NSW

iv coffee (Berry, NSW) – the ultimate hole-in-the-wall coffee stop in beautiful Berry. Speedy, delicious and super fun – you’ll get a reliably great coffee here every single time.

Manning Street Local (Kiama, NSW) – the best baristas, incredible coffee and yummy sweet treats. This chic store is definitely becoming an institution – not to be missed!

MilkHaus (Milton, NSW) - Amazing coffee as well as fantastic food inspired by the seasons and mostly home grown in their gorgeous kitchen garden. This is an absolutely must-visit.

SAPPHIRE COAST, NSW

The Wharf Local (Tathra, NSW) – surely the most scenic café in all of the country. Such an iconic salmon shed perched on the Tathra Wharf, the coffee and food here is amazing. Enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks underneath and the sunshine pouring through in the rustic chic interiors.

Toast (Pambula, NSW) – delicious coffee and great food on the main street of busy Pambula. Perfect for a takeaway, but definitely worth sitting in if you’ve time to try some of their seasonal fare too.

Candelo General Store & Cafe (Candelo, NSW) – this café/general store duo is always worth a visit. Great coffee and a delicious seasonal menu, plus a well-stocked general store next door to explore.

SOUTHERN TABLELANDS

Some Café (Collector, NSW) – such an iconic gem of regional coffee stops! A must-visit if you’re on the highway, seriously good coffee and amazing food – the perfect pit-stop on your journey. They also have a great pantry store filled with their delicious house-made condiments and a selection of curated goods – definitely worth a browse!

Grand Ettie (Taralga, NSW) – if you haven’t been, stop what you’re doing and drive here right now. Incredible coffee, insanely good home-baked goods, and a consistently amazing breakfast menu – this is one of the very best!

[To note: this is definitely not an exhaustive list of all the amazing regional coffee spots out there, and I will be adding to the list every time I discover a new gem. And I would LOVE to know your favourites, please let me know I can try them out!]
